Newell Price, Chief Executive Officer

Newell Price strategically drives the product direction and growth of Deep River Technologies with a focus on the requirements and expectations of today’s mid-market businesses. For more than 20 years, Newell has guided companies through the process of solving complex business problems by bringing together experienced consultants with the appropriate technology to get the job done right.
 
Prior to co-founding Deep River Technologies (formerly SoftBytes, LLC), Newell spent ten years as an account executive and then a sales manager for GBA Systems’ Business Solutions Division. As a technical sales executive, Newell was responsible for identifying, understanding and delivering software solutions ranging from the IBM AS/400 to Microsoft Client Server Networks, and was dedicated to the development and growth of GBA’s Microsoft® Dynamics® NAV (previously Navision) practice. In 2004 Newell, Vic Washington and Ted Koetter spun off GBA’s Navision practice to form SoftBytes, LLC, now Deep River Technologies. Newell has more than a decade of experience as a Microsoft Dynamics NAV Sales and Implementation Specialist.
 
Previously, Newell was employed by IBM and Xerox Corporations. While there he was trained and operated as a sales engineer, responsible for sales of hardware and software solutions to supply chain businesses in the southeastern United States. Newell’s success with supply chain business was built upon the practical experience that he gained during four years of working in warehouses and on plant floors during college.
 
Newell received his BA degree in Sociology Sciences from North Carolina State University. When not at Deep River, Newell spends time enjoying outdoor hobbies with his wife and three sons, and is Scoutmaster of his son's Boy Scout Troop. 
 

Ted Koetter, Chief Operating Officer

Ted Koetter manages all of Deep River’s client projects and engagements. Since 1985, Ted has been utilizing his 35 years of progressively-responsible experience (up to C-Level) in manufacturing, distribution and warehousing to analyze, design and deploy software applications for large and small businesses. His industry knowledge, coupled with a common sense approach, have given our clients the competitive edge needed to prosper in today’s highly competitive, technology savvy marketplace.
 
Prior to co-founding Deep River Technologies (formerly SoftBytes, LLC), Ted spent eight years as vice president & senior consultant for GBA Systems Business Solutions Division. Ted managed the implementation of ERP and supply chain software solutions for numerous medium to large sized companies throughout the Greater Southeast United States. Ted has more than ten+ years experience as a Microsoft® Dynamics® NAV Sales and Implementation Specialist.
 
Earlier in his career, Ted was Chief Financial Officer of Culp, Inc. In nine years with the company, Ted managed finance and administrative functions including information systems. He also directed an acquisition program which enabled Culp to grow from $17 million to $180 million in sales in seven years. Of this growth, less than $20 million was acquired sales. Previously, Ted was CFO of Piggly Wiggly Corporation. Ted also spent almost a decade with Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC). As a CPA with PWC he managed some of the largest clients in the Birmingham office. Clients under his management included South Central Bell (then a subsidiary of AT&T), Tennessee Valley Authority, Alcoa Aluminum, Beaunit Fibers (Textiles) and many others.
 
Ted received his BA degree in Accounting from Bellarmine College. Ted is an avid reader and enjoys traveling with his wife, Leigh and spending time with his children and grandchildren. 
 

Victor Washington, Chief Information Officer

Vic Washington is the master designer of “the client’s” software systems. With a background of twenty years of consulting, programming and project management, Vic transforms business processes and concepts into highly-effective software solutions. He has extensive experience in the areas of financial management, manufacturing and distribution. His systems design and programming experience include Microsoft Dynamics NAV’s C/Side Environment, MS-SQL, Oracle, Visual Basic and PowerBuilder.
 
Prior to co-founding Deep River Technologies (formerly SoftBytes, LLC), Vic was the senior programmer and technical consultant for GBA Systems Microsoft® Dynamics® NAV (previously Navision) practice. He was responsible for design, implementation and support of all Dynamics NAV installations for GBA. Vic has ten+ years of experience as a Microsoft Dynamics NAV Developer.
 
Before GBA, Vic was a Technical Manager with the large North Carolina-based textile manufacturer Burlington Industries, Inc. (later, Galey & Lord Inc.). In that capacity, he managed the implementation of a major financial package (including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets and Supply/Inventory systems) in a Windows NT Wide Area Network environment that included international locations. These systems operated in a Microsoft SQL database environment which Vic maintained. He also participated as a leading member of a project team responsible for converting, designing, programming and implementing work in process, work order processing, packing and releasing systems for manufacturing firms.
 
Vic received a BS degree in Decision Science and Math, and a MBA from Berry College. Vic likes to spend time with his family and friends, working out at the gym and taking karate with his son.
